Two signs we have left Bavaria

We arrived in Berlin yesterday, after a few days in Vilseck where we got the car serviced. (An oil change, air filters replaced, tire rotation, and some brake servicing all for less than 200 dollars, compared to my last oil change and air filter in Russia that topped out at a little under 600 bucks, Vilseck was quite a deal) Anyway our first of two nights in Berlin we found a comfy bar to eat dinner in and Nikki ordered a Hefeweizen, and I noticed that the bar had the same name as many of its beer offerings, so I assumed it was a brewery and asked the waitress simply for a beer. The idea was I figured I would receive the standard hellas of the restaurant. Well I did receive the standard beer of the restaurant. As I looked around the restaurant almost every table had these beers on them. The sign you are no longer in Bavaria in Germany is when you order a beer in a bar and it is a .2L offering... It looks puny next to Nikki's weizen. It was good, but even the pils in Bavaria are at least a ,3 L offering.
Another sign I am not in Bavaria is when I ordered the meat sampler, it included raw ground beef. I am a meat lover, and I love my beef rare, but I barely sampled the raw selection from this sampler. In a side note the Cheese and other sausage selections were yummy.
We are looking forward to exploring the city today and continuing our journey towards the port of Rostock where we will take a ferry to Helsinki.

The gorge

One of our favorite places in Garmisch is this gorge, everytime we have been here the ice makes different formations and the views are varied by how cold it has been, the views were amazing.

Ski Jumping

Here in Garmisch they have a big ski jumping competition (I think it is the world championship, but I am not much of a follower of the sport). The festivities provided us quite an opportunity to observe this sport.
The advertisers and teams provided entertainment around the jumping stadium.
I wonder which team has this bus, some things are hard to escape.
