Our Landlord has been more helpful than we ever dreamed of in moving us in and taking care of us, from bottled water on hand to toilet paper in the bathrooms and her checking on us every day in our first week to make sure all is well. We finally decided on the last pieces of furniture that we asked her to order for us and she replied with a
courteous, "give me two days" which is a process that would probably take us weeks to figure out. One thing she set up for us is the
Hotbird Satellite Television, which we hope to use to tune into AFN through a decoder box eventually, but for now it works to bring us
english language news
channels like BBC and
Euronews as well as all the Al-
Jazeera we can stomach. Anyhow this is the
television set up upon our arrival, quite a nice television but without the
satellite dish quite useless. We used our laptop to watch the entire John Adams miniseries for entertainment in our first few days.
so the television masters arrived at 11am, next thing we knew they were on the roof. I would like to point out that we are on the third floor of our building, and the building next door is a 4 story building, and the roof is sloped metal and it is raining. No safety gear for these everyday hero television
satellite dish installers. No doubt had they fallen it would have been a tragedy. They finally finished their
trapeze work at 7pm at which point they came inside the apartment and set up our television.
Now the computer has resumed its role as the
internet and game playing portal as we have the television for entertainment... thanks to the circus high rise actions of our
satellite installing heroes...
